Laurel Glen 2016 Rosella Rosé Sonoma Mountain

The story goes that a single stip of old vines dating back to the 1880s gives the flavor backbone of this wine. Can it really be "just" a row or two or three? "Just" a patch of vineyard? Whatever it is precisely, I love this wine.

This is rosé with FLAVOR. It flies in the face of all of those rosés that are downright anemic these days. People who don't like flavor (those who may also like poached chicken breast) can drink the other stuff.  I'll contentedly drink this wine of grace and complexity.

This one tastes of strawberries, cranberries and kirsch. It’s joyful, mouthfilling and refreshing with a touch of crispness on the back palate. At $30, it isn’t inexpensive, but neither are the Provençal preferences of so many folks. So, if you’ve got the dosh and you like FLAVOR, buy this one. It’s substantially more delish.
