An Introduction to Piedmont's Reversanti

Barbaresco tends to be a wine that needs time before it can be enjoyed, but the idea behind all of the Reversanti wines is to make them immediately enjoyable upon release. I wrote the note below before I looked into the winery, so I can honestly say that they have succeeded in that mission with this wine!

The Reversanti Barbaresco vines are located in the Barbaresco commune. Only 3,000 bottles are produced, making this the smallest cuvée of this small winery established in 2005. (A Barolo and a Barbera d'Asti are also imported to the USA.)

A pale, light and compact Barbaresco, this elegant expression is already highly approachable thanks to its rather mild tannins and integrated acidity. It would be a great addition to a wine by the glass list in an upscale restaurant. Its delicate aromas of rose petal and strawberry translate directly onto the palate, where notes of leather and tobacco create dynamism around the nicely juicy core.
