Another Enticing Round of FEL Wines

FEL 2017 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard Anderson Valley $70
As typically round and rich on the palate as FEL wines tend to be, this year's Savoy single vineyard clamps down a bit on the palate with dry, stringy tannins. It's neither very Pinot-like in that regard, nor is it typical of FEL. The flavors are typically robust with black cherry cobbler-lke fruits and a touch of underbrush. The finish is only moderate thanks to those grippy tannins, but the perky acidity helps resolve the palate with its mouthwatering qualities.

FEL 2017 Chardonnay Savoy Vineyard Anderson Valley $48
Scrumptious and demonstrative, this texturally fueled, gastro tasting experience is as dynamic as ever. Full-bodied, mouthcoating and tasting of freshly baked apple cobbler, this wine has breadth palate and taste. Its finish of apple bins at harvest is impressively vibrant. I particularly loved this with a rich brie and quince paste. Solid value here.
